Starting any business requires some effort
Starting any business requires some effort and just like an off line business (sometimes called a bricks and morter) there is competition. There is also a huge potential, there are currently over 600 million individuals registered online.
Do not be tricked
You can spend a fortune buying books, courses, ebooks, or joining schemes that will only cost you money. Many only offer information that is out of date or does not work. There is however information to be learned and most if not all is available free of charge.
If a scheme is so good you will not need to pay to join. What about schemes that guarantee of your money back, ask yourself one question, if it is so good why do they want you to pay up front or have your credit card details. The answer is that it will probably fail and you will probably not get your money back. If they were confident about what they were offering they would give you free membership, at least until you can ratify their claims. Do not be fooled by a few checks, they may be true but you do not have proof of how much work they did. If you promote anything it will take time and effort to get started.
Are there good things on the Internet?
Yes there are but there are also a lot of scams and false claims.
Advertising is a classic area for tricks. This is a book all on its own.
- Advertise to millions... Responce rate 0
- Pay per click (banners. links, adverts web site visitors etc).
There are poeple who make extra cash clicking on pay per click banners / links or visiting sites (so called genuine visitors). They are NOT buyers, just clicking on your banner to get paid and who is paying the advertiser pays. This will costing you money but will not generate and orders. If you are going to pay to advertise on the web be very careful that you are getting genuine surfers.
Resell rights to ebooks and other material. This is another book all on its own.
- A lot of the material is out of date and no longer of any commercial value.
- Most of the tips contained in this type of information is useless.
FREE, rearly means FREE.
While we do use it on this site, we do mean it. If we say something is FREE we do not ask you for your credit card. Nothing on this site that is stated as being FREE requires you to buy anything.
Here is a simple test that will help you to speed up your evaluation if something is free or not. Check at the end of the web page if they are asking for a credit card or other form of payment then forget it. If the advertise it as FREE then want you to buy something to get it for FREE this is dishonest advertising and stick to your principals and do not order anything from the site.
What do you realy need?
While it is possible to run an online business without your own web site, I do not suggest this as few people make a profit. A web site is not very expensive and gives you opportunities that do not exist if you do not have your own site.
If you are going to set up a web site for conducting a business you need to ensure that you use a hosting service that will allow to use it for business purposes, some free or low cost hosting options are only for personal use only.
