Are you in control?

Stress is a natural condition, originally designed for our survival. Every living thing experiences stress, even the humble worm … even plants. Stress was designed to protect us from danger. Overheating, thirst, hunger and cold all cause stress to the body. There are three types of stress:
  • Physical: Apart from the stress caused by hunger, cold and thirst, physical stress can be caused by sudden or long-term injury, such as ‘repetitive strain injury’ (RSI).
  • Chemical: when the body is continually bombarded by toxic substances, causing it to work hard to neutralise those toxins.
  • Emotional: The most sinister kind of stress, many of us get so used to it, we are unaware of it, and the damage it can do.
It is a fact that sustained stress leads to a high risk of serious health issues including strokes and heart attacks.

Most of us can substantially reduce our stress levels and therefore reduce the risks of serious illnesses if we take responsibility for our lives.

The most important thing to do, is to addresss the cause of any sustained stress and to use methods / techniques that can reduce the bodies stress such as meditation. If you have a specific issue(s) that are causing you stress (i.e. Monetary problems, relationship problems, job related problems, bullying etc.) look at ways that you can use to resolve / remove the causes of the stress. Your health is also an important factor in your body's ability to handle stress and it is important to ensure that you do what you can to mantain a healthy body (Click here for some health tips.).

If you are currently stressed (or know someone who is) learn how to reduce stress by using relaxation techniques / meditation by simply listening to the Inner Harmony CD.
